For over 55 years, Elston Hay & Grain has been a cornerstone of San Diego’s rural community, providing quality products, expert advice, and personalized service to generations of animal lovers.
What began in 1969 as a hay distribution business by John and Nancy Elston quickly grew into a trusted hub for equine lovers, ranchers, farmers, and pet owners. By 1997, we had expanded from our first store in Ramona to a second location in Poway, making it easier for families across the region to access premium hay, grain, and animal supplies.
Passing the Torch
In 2003, the reins were passed to Wayne and Teresa Elston, who continue to lead with the same values that built our foundation: A deep love for animals, rural life, and the community we serve. With roots in rodeo, 4-H, and hands-on ranching and farming experience, our family knows what it takes to care for animals and the traditions that sustain them.
